Why Hawaii?

Years ago Rafe’s mom Pat used to date a man who was the caretaker of Makalawena Beach. Rafe fell in love with the energy of the beach, the white sands, the turquoise water, the cowrie shells and sea salt you could hand collect. The area was pure magic and became his favorite spot on Hawaii.
Fast forward to present day and sharing this piece of magic with Amber. We fell in love in Hawaii and our trips to Makalawena were part of the deepening of our journey. Our talks on those walks were some of our deepest as we could feel each other walking together into our future.
It was a natural progression to choose the sacred land as the spot for our ceremony. Though it’s a little difficult to get out there, it’s a pilgrimage and a place held so special in both our hearts.
It feels right to dedicate and proclaim our love on this holy ground.
